OCS Commitment: Leading Responsible Pipe Manufacturing in Europe

In the plastics industry, sustainability can no longer be a statement of intent; it must be a measurable fact. At Polytherm, we understand that our responsibility as a manufacturer of piping systems goes beyond the thermal efficiency of our products. For this reason, we became the first European pipe manufacturer to obtain the OCS (Operation Clean Sweep) certification granted by AENOR.

But what does this seal really mean for the building sector and for the environment?

What is the Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) program?

The OCS is a global initiative of the plastics industry to prevent the emission of plastic particles (pellets, flakes or dust) into the environment during any stage of the value chain.

Although plastic is an extraordinary material due to its durability and recyclability, its accidental loss during any process in the value chain can end up in marine or terrestrial ecosystems. The OCS program establishes a "Zero Pellet Loss" protocol, and at Polytherm we have integrated this standard into our production plant.

The 5 pillars of our OCS commitment

To maintain this certification, Polytherm has implemented strict measures in our facilities:

  • Protected infrastructure: production lines adapted to prevent spills.
  • Filtration and safety barriers: containment systems in water networks and perimeters so that no particles leave the plant.
  • Training and culture of response: trained and trained personnel for the immediate detection and collection of any spill.
  • External validation: AENOR audits that periodically review our processes.
  • Commitment: of senior management to the O.C.S. program.

Leading change in the sector

At Polytherm, obtaining the OCS seal was not a goal, but the beginning of a non-negotiable standard of work. We believe that the reliability of a system like FUSIOPER or our underfloor heating must be total: from technical precision on site to absolute respect for the environment in our factory.

Installing Polytherm is, today more than ever, betting on an invisible air conditioning system that takes care of the visible: our planet.
