When you want to install an air-conditioning system in your new home, and you want it to be as efficient as possible in order to save money, there is always a question: underfloor heating or radiators?
In this article we explain why your best option is the underfloor heating system. We will tell you all the advantages of underfloor heating compared to the traditional radiator system.
First you need to know what each system is:
- The traditional system is the radiator system, which distributes and emits heat from water heated in a gas boiler through radiators (traditionally made of aluminum or steel) installed in walls.
- The most efficient system is the underfloor heating system. It consists of a system of pipes through which hot water runs, which can be heated with different heat sources (the most efficient being aerothermal) and which is placed under the floor, which can be made of various types of flooring. This makes the system invisible; the heat is more homogeneous in all rooms and has a large amount of energy savings compared to radiators.
Underfloor heating has several advantages compared to a traditional radiator system:
Energy efficiency
Comfort and well-being
Taking care of your health
Energy efficiency: One of the great advantages of underfloor heating is that its working temperature is much lower, around 40º, compared to conventional radiators, whose working temperature is around 70º. This can result in savings of between 20% and 70% on energy bills. By working at a low temperature, it can be combined with a heat source such as aerothermal energy, and achieve a much higher energy efficiency than other systems.
Comfort: Since underfloor heating covers the entire surface of the house, the heat generated by it is distributed evenly throughout the house, whereas radiators focus most of the temperature on the wall on which they are installed and the ceiling.
Health: The World Health Organization considers underfloor heating to be the healthiest heating option, contributing to improved comfort and well-being at home.
Free decoration
Does not cause allergies
With clean energies
Space saving: As the system is installed under the floor, it avoids the need to install radiators that take up space in the rooms. This can result in more storage space and leaves more freedom for decoration.
Hygiene: Underfloor heating systems eliminate any draughts and therefore also harmful particles, and therefore do not cause allergies.
Compatibility with clean energies: Underfloor heating is compatible with any heat source (geothermal, aerothermal, gas or oil boilers, solar energy, etc...)
It is important to note that although underfloor heating has many advantages, it also requires a higher initial investment compared to radiators. However, the return on that investment can be practically immediate due to savings on energy bills.
